Thank you everyone for the support so far! We’ve had an overwhelmingly positive response from the both the stats community and the hockey community at large and it really means a lot to us.

Just a couple of quick updates:

  • We’ve removed our old static news page and replaced with this blog. We’ll be using this to publish articles and research done through these tools as well as just posting announcements and updates to the website.
  • We’re experimenting with google ads. We’ll be running 2 or three on the site so you’ll see those though we’re trying to make sure they interfere with the layout as little as possibel
  • we’ve switched the comparison tool to run off Last Name, First Name – this was easily the most suggested change and was easy enough to implement

We are officially launched! While the site is now open to the public, please be advised a lot of what we’re doing is still in beta and we are still working out the kinks.

We understand the drop down for searching can be a bit of a pain and some things don’t load lightning quick- please be patient!

Due to popular demand search has been updated to be Last Name, First Name

  • Loading screens/buttons added
  • 2014-2015 Season Data updated for most leagues

We’ve added a whack of stuff. Most importantly: cumulative NHLE numbers, Height, and increasing hte point spread for comparisons to -4/+4

Here’s our current list of working functions as of today and what we’ve been doing.

  • Cumulative NHLE’s added (see the methodology page for more details)
  • Optional Heigh Filtering added
  • Added Loading screen for slow loads
  • Comparison screen now has a clear button
  • Some errors are now returned
  • Multiple button clicks should be unnecessary

We’ve added additional draft years for comparisons. Selecting multiple years will limit comparisons to only players who match each years criteria. NOTE: this narrows the amoutn of comparables dramatically.

Here’s our current list of working functions as of today and what we’ve been doing.

  • Draft year -1 to +3 added to the search
  • Eliminated the need for multiple search clicks
  • Fixed the search function for Comparisons
  • Split D-Men From Forwards and eliminated “still developing” pool

Here’s what we know is broken:

  • No errors returned if you search for data that doesn’t exist.
  • Missing data may pull false positives without reporting to the user
  • If no data is found for a search, the information from the previous search will remain on screen.

Updated our site styles today. Everything looks good. Nothing seems obviously broken. We’re currently working on table summary of graphs, forward/dmen filtering, and adding height as a filterable component.

  • Fixed Formatting on search page
  • Player Comparisons working
  • Index Page updated/formatted
  • About Us page updated/formatted
  • Methodology Updated/formatted
  • Projection Player Search Drop down Fixed

Here’s what we know is broken:

  • Search Drop-Down on Comparison page is slow
  • Search on Projection page requires multiple clicks
  • Projection page loads data in pieces (may require multiple clicks to load all data)
  • We Will be removing “Still Developing” class of player from presentation (players who currently qualify for this definition will not be included in any results)
